If you’ve listened or read any of my material then you’ll know how much emphasis I place on the importance of following up with prospects that make an enquiry for you act, whether you’re a cover band, singer or musician.
Various studies have shown that you need follow up with a prospect at least 7 times before they’ll buy from you. In my experience that’s about right…..sometimes.
What do I mean by ‘sometimes’. That’s just confusing.
Well, some people may make an enquiry for cover bands, singers or musicians and decide they want to book after just receiving your quote. Some may need another one or two contacts before they’re ready to book. Some may take even more than 7 contacts before they decide to book.
If you’re currently just receiving an enquiry, sending a quote and then leaving it at that then I can assure you that you’re missing out on bookings. Big Time!
The point is that every person that makes an enquiry for your act will behave a little differently in terms of how many times you’ll need to follow up with them in order to get their business.
Why? Surely if they want to book my act then they’ll just give me a call or drop me an email and book, right?
There are so many different reasons why people won’t do this.
- Their life is busy and you’re not top of their priority list.
- If they’re organising an event then they’ll have anything up to 10 other suppliers all vying for their attention and business.
- They’ve likely made multiple enquiries for other similar acts to yours so you need to compete for their mindshare.
- You probably haven’t communicated effectively enough why your act is the right one for their event.
- Very simply, your initial email quote has either dropped to the bottom of their inbox or worse still it’s sitting in their spam folder.
There are numerous other reasons but I thing you get the gist.
Can you see how important consistent and multiple follow ups are now?
Think about it this way.
Double your booking by simply following up more often….here’s how…
Lets say that for every 10 enquiries you convert one of those into a booking. You may be getting more which is great, but stick with me here as I show you how you can improve your current booking ‘conversion rate’.
Now lets say you convert just one more of those 10 enquiries because you consistently and systematically followed up with each of those 10 ‘leads’.
The result: You’ve taken your booking conversion rate from 10% to 20%. You’ve doubled it!
How does that effect your bottom line income? Well you’ve doubled that too. Just to drive my point home lets use some basic numbers.
If you charge £1000 and you get 20 bookings a year then you’ve generated a £20,000 a year income. By following up every lead as I’ve described you can turn that £20,000 into £40,000 over the year.
I’m guessing that’ll make a significant positive difference for you.
“But it all sounds like a lot of hard work doing all that follow up”
Well yes it is, IF you do it the ‘old fashioned’ way.
Lets say you decide you want to follow up each lead 6 times with at least one email. So that’s 6 emails you’re having to send to every lead. So for every 10 leads you generate you’re having to send 60 emails!!!
I don’t know about you but that amount of work drains the life out of me. Besides who’s got the time to send 60 emails to 10 leads! More leads than that and it’s an eye watering amount of emailing you’ve got to do.
I’m sure you’d rather be out there performing and doing your thing.
That’s the ‘old fashioned’ way. Not very enticing is it!
Well I’m delighted to say there is a NEW, and infinitely BETTER way to do this. And the amazing thing is that YOU won’t be sending the emails, but the emails WILL get sent.
In the video below I’m going to show you a system I call the ‘Auto Pilot Gig Booking System’.
It’s a system I developed that essentially helps you automate the follow up process I’ve outlined above without you having to lift a finger.
Pretty powerful stuff….
